There's really not too much to update. The officials have released the names and pictures of the 3 missing boys, ages 16-19. They believe this is a hostage situation, where the terrorists will at some point request to return the boys for released prisoners. This has occurred in the past, but they usually target soldiers. What makes this even more unfathomable is that they're civilians. The IDF has thwarted 30 kidnapping attempts last year, and 14 so far this year.
While hitchhiking is far too common in Israel, the authorities believe the boys trustingly got into a vehicle with Israeli license plates. A burned-out Israeli car was found near Hevron, which is where the major search is going on. IDF Parachute Brigade and other elite forces are involved in house to house operations. So far 16 Hamas terrorists have been detained for questioning as the military tries to gain intelligence that will lead them to the boys.
